How can i change my keyboard (QWERTY/AZERTY)?
Go to the Settings menu, then scroll down in the left menu to Language and Entry. Click on this. In the Language and Entry menu, you'll find the submenu Keyboard and Entry methods. In this submenu, the Android keyboard is normally set to Dutch (qwerty). If you click on the icon with the three sliders behind the Android keyboard, you arrive at a menu which, at the top, allows you to click on Languages Entry. As already mentioned, the setting here is for Dutch. By clicking on Languages Entry, you have the possibility of placing a check mark next to the Dutch language (on or off) at Active Entry methods and to select French, for example. The French entry method has an azerty keyboard, while your tablet simply remains installed as Dutch. To switch your tablet back and forth between azerty and qwerty, you turn off the French language by removing the check mark for the French language and setting the check mark back again at Dutch.
How do i take photos with my tablet?
You can take photos with your tablet. However, the tablet has only one camera (front side). The photos that this camera makes are not of very high quality. So the camera is really intended more for Skyping, for example, than for taking photos.
I forgot the password for my D709 tablet. What now?
1. Charge your tablet's battery up to at least 30%. 2. Press the volume button "+" and the on/off button simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds until the Android logo appears. Then release the on/off button but keep the volume button "+" pressed down until you get a screen with various selection possibilities. 3. Here, select "Wipe data/factory reset" (you proceed through the menu by means of the "+" and "-" buttons and you confirm your selection with the on/off button). 4. In the following screen, select "Reboot system now" (you proceed through the menu by means of the "+" and "-" buttons and you confirm your selection with the on/off button). 5. Confirm once again. The tablet then restarts and you can get into your tablet without the use of a password.

Where can i download an update for my D709?
Connect your tablet to your PC. Go to www.empire-electronix.nl. Click on the "downloads" button and download the first three buttons at the D709. The first download contains the update, the second download contains an extensive manual. You need the third download to install the update on your tablet. After downloading, we refer you to the manual.
I get the error message:"Error retrieving info from the server (RPC:S-5AEC0)".
Go to settings > apps > all > Google play store, and then press "delete data" and "stop now". You then go to settings > Google (under the "Accounts" heading) and click on your e-mail address. Press the settings button at the upper right and select "Delete account". You now login to your Google account again and restart your tablet.
I don't see a date and/or time. What's going on?

I Can't turn on my tablet.
Check whether your tablet is charged sufficiently. Before using it for the first time, you must charge your tablet completely (a minimum of 6-10 hours). Note: your tablet will charge only if it is completely turned off! If your tablet is completely charged, press and hold the on/off button for 10-15 seconds until you hear a tick or a click. Then press the on/off button again until your tablet starts.
The tablet won't charge?
Make sure that the USB cable provided is connected properly to both the power adapter and to the tablet's USB port. If the connection is correct, a small battery symbol will appear at the lower right of the screen and this symbol will then show a charging motion. This symbol will only be visible for a short time. Once you press the on/off button briefly, the charging symbol (battery) will appear again.
The screen sometimes goes blank?
By default, the screen saver (sleep mode) is set for a very short duration (15 seconds). The screen saver can be changed via the settings menu at the "display" choice and then under "sleep mode".

In the settings menu, go to the "Storage space" selection. Now press this button. You then scroll down in the right-hand portion of your screen until you see the selection for linking an SD-card. Once you have pressed this button, your tablet will recognise the SD-card.

How can I make the sound from my tablet louder?
The easiest way to do this is by using the louder/softer button at the top of the tablet. You can also configure the volume separately for three categories via the settings menu, then the Sound button and then the Volumes button. These categories are: "Music, video, games and other media", "Ring tones and notifications" and "Alarms".
How can my battery be nearly empty so quickly?
The length of time that the tablet works on the battery is strongly dependent on the type of use. By selecting the battery option within the settings menu, you can see which part of the tablet uses the most power. To save power, you can choose to reduce the clarity of the screen, for example. You can also have the tablet's sleep mode activated more quickly. You will find these options by selecting the "Display" option in the settings menu.
I can't download any drivers. Why is this?
Once you have connected the tablet to the PC via the USB cable, you see a number of options appear at the lower right of the screen. You should select USB connection. Your tablet then asks you to turn this on. Downloading drivers is not necessary. (You do still need to download drivers for Windows 95, 98, 2000, Millennium and XP).

I can't find an e-mail app on the tablet.
The pre-installed e-mail app is an app for a Gmail account. If you want to be able to use another account (e.g. Exchange/Microsoft), then you can download and install the K-9 Mail app via the Google Play Store.
I can't find an e-reader app on the tablet.
The notification on the bottom of the box refers to the capability of reading e-books on the tablet. However, there is no standard app for this installed. You can download and install various e-reader apps via the Google Play Store. The free app Kobo is a good e-reader app that you can use for this.
How can I read an ePub e-book file on my tablet?
You can open this type of e-book with the free app Aldiko. Download this app via the Google Play Store. After this, you can open and read the ePub files with this app.
Why is it that the OfficeSuite app can only be used for 30 days?
This app is a trial version. So you can use this app and try it out for free during this 30-day period. If you like the app, you can purchase the app at the end of the trial period for a small sum.
The Ziggo TV app doesn't work on my tablet.

The tablet can't initiate an Internet connection via WiFi.
This problem may be caused by a setting in the modem and/or router. You can ask your provider to change the channel on which the modem and/or router transmits its signal to a different channel number. Have it changed from channel 11 to channel 2, for example. If you are sufficiently knowledgeable, you can also change the channel yourself in the settings of your modem and/or router under the menu heading "wireless settings".
How do I reset the tablet?
The causes of this can be very diverse. Often there are apps running in the background or downloads and app installations are taking place simultaneously. Before you perform a reset, you should first check whether the battery can still provide enough power. Just to be certain, it is better to connect the tablet to mains power. You then keep the on/off button pressed in for at least 10-15 seconds until you hear a click. Your tablet has now been reset and the tablet should work correctly again.

Since you are to blame for the tablet's being damaged and/or broken, this does not fall under the terms of the guarantee. Unfortunately, it is not possible to repair or replace external damages. You can, of course, purchase a new tablet from us. The price for this depends on the type of tablet you wish to order. If you wish to make use of this possibility, you first receive an invoice from us. After payment, the tablet will be sent to you.
I want to send my tablet in for repair. How does this work?
If you wish to send in your tablet for evaluation/repair, you can notify our helpdesk of this via the contact form. You will then be notified about the rest of the procedure.
I don't want another tablet, I wish to cancel the purchase agreement.
This is possible only if you have given our repair centre the opportunity to resolve the problem. If it turns out that your problem cannot be remedied, you will be sent a new tablet. Only if the new tablet also gives problems that we cannot resolve by telephone or by e-mail and you don't wish to present the tablet for repair again do you then have the right to demand cancellation of the purchase agreement. Since we are not a party to this, you must contact the selling dealer yourself (Veronica, for example).
Paying the costs of shipment for returning the second time. Now what?
We will make compensation for the costs of return shipment only in exceptional situations and then only if it involves returning for the second time! If this is the case, then the customer must send us the payment/shipping vouchers.
